City Hall Plaza Warwick with kids

Which activity fits your children, what a family of four can expect to pay, and the small details that prevent a wasted trip.

Researched and checked September 18, 2026

The short version: bumper cars have the strictest age and height rules; roller skating offers the longest published sessions; ice skating is seasonal and its next session times have not yet been posted.

Bumper carsYour group wants a short, structured ride rather than an open skating session.Drivers must be at least 6 years old and 42 inches tall. Ages 3–5 may ride on the lap of an adult age 16+.
Ice skatingYou are planning a winter outing and can work around a 90-minute session.Children 5 and under receive free admission; skate aids are listed as free.

What does a family of four cost?

These examples use the Plaza’s published prices for two adults and two children ages 6–12. They are planning estimates, not a checkout quote.

$58Roller admission plus four roller-skate rentals
$35.20One bumper-car ride after the current 20% family-of-four offer
$66Ice admission plus four skate rentals

The official skating pages list a 3% debit/credit-card fee, so those roller and ice examples become $59.74 and $67.98 when paid by card. Bringing your own suitable skates removes the rental portion. Bumper-car pricing varies by age: adults are $12 and children 12 and under are $10 before the family discount.

Three family plans that work

Young children: make bumper cars the main event

For ages 3–5, plan on lap riding with someone 16 or older. A child who wants to drive independently must meet both requirements: age 6 or older and at least 42 inches tall. Because the ride is only 10 minutes, pair it with a snack or a short walk in Apponaug instead of promising a half-day attraction.

School-age children: choose one rink activity

Roller skating is the warm-weather option, with multiple-hour blocks rather than a single 10-minute ride. If everyone needs rentals, reserve enough budget for equipment as well as admission. Free helmets, wrist guards, elbow pads and knee pads are offered while supplies last, so availability is not guaranteed.

Winter: wait for the session calendar

The ice rink page currently says 90-minute sessions will run Wednesday through Sunday, but the 2026–27 times are still marked “posted soon.” Put the outing on your winter list, then check the official schedule before choosing a day.
